Blue Skilled Worker Card

Get your CSCS Blue Card.

For experienced workers with access to suitable work in their trade. For the Blue CSCS Q-Card: complete a relevant NVQ Level 2 and pass the required GQA health and safety test or an accepted equivalent CITB test. We apply after the qualification is awarded and checks are complete. You can also choose the qualification on its own.

Blue complete route from £889 (NVQ only from £799)

Starting total for the Level 2 package, including the NVQ, H&S test and card application after qualification. Additional units and novice training are priced separately; ask us for a quote.

GQA issues a Q-Card carrying the CSCS logo, as part of the CSCS Alliance. Employers can verify it with CSCS Smart Check. Choose the card appropriate to your occupation; each site sets its own access requirements.

Evidence from your current work

Questions

Your assessment plan sets out the observation and evidence required. You can record workplace evidence on your phone for remote review, but your assessor may need further observation, questioning or discussion. We explain any in-person or device requirements before the relevant assessment.

Your assessor helps identify what to record from suitable current work. Each task and sample explains the evidence required; submit your own work. If you are new to the trade, ask about the Level 2 novice training route, its training plan and when workplace access is needed before you purchase.

You can take the GQA HS&E CSCS test before, during or after your NVQ. A current equivalent CITB pass of the right type may meet the requirement, subject to verification by GQA. Official tests are in English and have booking, device and invigilation conditions.

The package price covers your NVQ Level 2, the GQA health and safety test if you still need it, and your Blue CSCS card. An accepted equivalent CITB test pass may satisfy the card requirement. The NVQ-only figure is for the qualification on its own.

The time depends on access to suitable work, the evidence required, assessor feedback and quality assurance. Before enrolling, ask us to confirm your assessment plan, review schedule and access period. GQA award and card issuance are separate stages.

GQA health and safety test resits with us are free until you pass. For NVQ evidence, follow your assessor’s feedback and resubmit what is required. Where an NVQ knowledge or written test is required, one resit is free; further resits have a fee shown on Pricing.

We submit your application once your qualification, required H&S pass, checks, information and payment are complete. GQA aims to issue within 7 working days after receiving everything required. CSCS then posts the card: allow about 10 working days for it to arrive after GQA confirms. This is not a guaranteed arrival date.
