Applies to Level 1 GQA knowledge tests and the CSCS HS&E sitting when delivered under remote invigilation (AOP-026).
We record the sitting so a live centre invigilator can confirm your identity and environment, monitor the test in real time, and so the centre can produce an integrity evidence pack if GQA or an EQA asks for it.
We do not store a separate photograph of your ID document in this process — the invigilator confirms ID visually on the live recording.
Recordings are kept for 1,096 days (three years — AOP-042 and the Cloudflare Stream maximum) after the assessment completes, then securely deleted, unless a legal hold applies (for example an investigation or appeal). That meets GQA’s twelve-month floor.
Recordings are confidential assessment data. Access is restricted to authorised centre and platform staff. Playback uses short-lived signed links; every access is written to an audit log.
You may refuse consent at check-in — the sitting is cancelled before any test content is shown, and the short check-in recording is still retained under the retention policy above. For broader GDPR rights (access, erasure requests, complaints), see the main Privacy Policy.
This remote test sitting is recorded (webcam, screen and audio) from check-in until the sitting ends. The recording is confidential assessment data, kept for at least 12 months, and accessed only by authorised centre staff. You can refuse consent — the sitting will be cancelled and no test content will be shown.
