Remote invigilation recording notice

Purpose

We record the sitting so a live centre invigilator can confirm your identity and environment, monitor the test in real time, and so we can show GQA the test was run properly if they ask.

What is recorded

• Your webcam video and microphone audio
• Your entire computer screen (screen share)
• A record of what happened and when (your consent, ID check, room check, any concerns, any pause)

We do not store a separate photograph of your ID document in this process. The invigilator confirms ID visually on the live recording.

Retention

Recordings are kept for 1,096 days (three years) after the assessment completes, then securely deleted, unless a legal hold applies (for example an investigation or appeal). That meets GQA’s twelve-month floor.

Access

Recordings are confidential assessment data. Only authorised staff can view them, and every viewing is logged. GQA may review a recording when checking how a sitting was conducted.

Your rights

Recording may begin during check-in, before you decide whether to continue. You may refuse before any test content is shown, and the sitting will be cancelled. We keep any short check-in recording made before refusal as assessment-integrity evidence under the retention policy above.
